Play Controller and Play Hub process Twitch authorization tokens and viewer identifiers to authenticate requests, verify follower eligibility for game controls, prevent abuse and keep community activity persistent.
When a viewer chooses to link their Twitch identity, the extensions may store their Twitch user ID, public username and display name so activity from chat, Play Controller and Play Hub can be combined into one player profile. Player profiles may include accepted game inputs and timestamps, points and XP progress, levels, achievements, quests, rankings, activity statistics, votes, game suggestions, channel ideas, likes and badges.
The service also records basic product-interaction telemetry such as extension opens, button attempts, follow prompts, profile opens and voting actions. This is used to improve the shared-game experience and aggregate channel analytics. Public game suggestions and community posts require a linked identity, display the submitter's public username, and are checked against the channel's moderation settings before publication. Broadcasters and moderators can remove public submissions.
We do not request viewer email addresses, advertising identifiers or payment information, and we do not sell viewer data to advertisers. Community and gameplay records may be retained to preserve rankings and historical statistics and may be reset or deleted by the channel operator when needed.
